Healthcare reform
By Frederick Corrigan
“HEALTHCARE REFORM” Health is a relative term in regards to the condition of being sound in body, mind or spirit. Here are some items that will “REFORM” a great number of abuses that exist in the current system. ‘R’emoval of faults or abuses: Pay the CEOs of hospitals $500,000.00 or less per year to help the hospital make a profit and better serve their patients. ‘E’nforcing or introducing a better method: Our elected officials on state and national levels should buy their own Health Insurance, as we average citizens do, when they retire from service. One plan suits all. ‘F’orm again into an improved form: Pay Insurance Company CEOs $500,000.00 or less per year and no umbrella retirements that cost the policyholders higher premiums. They can retire on 80% of their annual salary and no other benefits after 20 years of service. ‘O’rganize a better method or course of action: Does this mean rewarding people who live healthy, but put higher insurance premiums and penalties on those who are obese, smoke, abuse alcohol or drugs? We fine drivers for driving to endanger don’t we? ‘R’ejection of status quo: Pay CEOs of Drug Companies a maximum of $500,000.00 per year and no bonus or retirement umbrella that adds to the cost of drugs for their customers. ‘M’ ethods or course of action that will be better: Does this mean that the GREEDY Company Executives, CEOs, Elected Officials, Investors, Bankers and Lobbyists should be able to live very comfortably on $500,000.00 per year and stop raping the working people and the senior citizens? We senior citizens have already been told that we won’t receive a cost of living increase in 2010. However, we will get an increase in the cost of our medicare and this will mean less money in our social security checks. How many CEO’s and elected officials are going to take a cut in pay in 2010? You’ll probably find out that the CEO’s bonuses are increasing even though some of their companies received taxpayer bailout money. All of these things effect the cost of American Health Care.

I think when politicians says "Health care reform" it means something different from when you and I say Health care reform.
