Are You A Ghost?
By Frederick Corrigan
I look around the room and see a number of figures dressed in white. What goes on at this occurrence? As I’m getting my bearings, a woman in white moves toward me and beckons me to follow her. I obey, but I’m not sure what I’m going to be required to do. I’m 73 years of age and not familiar or comfortable with what the woman in white wants me to do. I listen to her directions as she looks at me with an all knowing smile. She then leaves me alone and I attempt to follow her instructions concerning the lighted black box that she’s been looking at. The next thing to occur is that I’m in a prone position on a table. The lady in white, with the ever present smile, speaks softly giving me further instructions. I wonder what will happen next, as this is my first time. Can I follow through with this ghostly desire? Yes I can, I tell myself over and over, because I want to be a ghost. Yes I can! Somewhere and sometime during the next 42 days, I will become a ghost. Now, I will tell how you too can possibly become a potential ghost life saver to 3 people in the next 42 days. When you become a Red Cross blood donor, your blood can be kept for 42 days and when it is used it could save up to 3 lives. Give “Hope” today to someone who will never know of your good deed, except to be grateful for your life saving donation. At that point, you are a GOOD GHOST. You can donate blood from age 18, (16 with parental permission) as long as you are in good health. There is no limit on age, (I met a lady at a blood bank who was 85) and you can donate every 8 weeks. As a GOOD GHOST, you could possibly save 18 lives a year! Thank you for taking the time to care.

Contributor's Note
There is no substitute for blood and this is something that we senior citizens can donate to help others.

I had no idea senior citizens could donate. If I were 73 I'd hang on to every last drop! My hat goes off to you.
